Charlie's new name- Messy McGetintoEverything....

Due to the recent weeks of naughtiness I do believe we should change Charlie's name. Messy McGetintoEverything. How did I come to this decision, I can show you better than tell you..... Keep in mind I only catch very little of his naughtiness on camera, so imagine the following pictures happening over and over day after day.

Oh, and he's naked because he just had dinner, and it's easier to just take off his clothes then wipe him down.

I don't know how food ended up smashed into the wallNow that he can stand and climb onto things it is only getting worse, it is amazing what a kid can do in one minute, like eat half a bowl of dog food or use the toilet to 'clean' their toys.

By the time Larin gets home and Charlie is doing something naughty I don't even have the strength to yell so I just laugh. That's the reason God made kids so darn cute, so you don't beat them senseless by the end of the day.

I needed to update...badly.

Yes, yes i know it has been awhile, we've been busy ok! We had a great vacation up to Idaho, starting in Mountain Home visiting my sister and her family and ending with Charlie's 1st birthday and 2nd Easter with the grandparents in Idaho Falls. His birthday was Insane with a capital I! The entire Harris clan made it (all 40+ people) and a few from my side were there. He got super spoiled of course and he couldn't care less about the presents. His cousin Spencer was quite the helper with opening presents it was hilarious! He kept telling me that we had to take the toys out of the boxes because Charlie wanted to play with them.There are millions of photos, and they are on facebook so I'll just post a few!Cake!!Easter morning and happy about the candy!
Just the wee one and I went up to Idaho Falls to send-off my best friend Kat, she's graduated ISU and is going to move to South Carolina so we had to see her before she left. Charlie loved all the attention and was showing off to Grandma and Grandpa Sullivan by CLIMBING THE STAIRS!!! It was a nice four day weekend for us to catch up with family and friends.He loved the tramp at Grandma's!
Larin is loving his new job down at battalion in SLC and is a ton more relaxed now that he isn't a recruiter! I like him coming home at more decent times and in a better mood!
I have started up school again and am glad to be getting it done yet stressed, homework is a lot harder when you have a 1 year old trying to get on the computer.Charlie has changed so much from my last post. He can climb on everything, we had to buy a new entertainment center to keep him from the TV and pressing all the buttons on dad's game consoles(yes we have more than one). He is still a chatter-box but it's becoming clearer and clearer, except when he growls-that's still not very clear:) He can stand all by himself and it is super hard to get him to sleep because he just stands in his cribs and throws things at the wall. He finally started drinking from a sippy cup but still takes bottles at night and nap time. He begs and eats all sorts of foods now and has FOUR teeth.Oh what else..oh yeah, he WALKED! He's been walking with his toy for a while but yesterday he took steps without it and I just about cried! He's so grown up!!!!

Staying BUSY!

I was finally able to get pictures of Charlie at his swim class, usually I'm in the pool with him so for obvious reasons I can't take pictures. Larin was able to get out of work a little earlier so he could go in the pool with Charlie and they had a great time! He loves it until it comes time to put his face under water, then he screams like you just killed a puppy or something. The instructor just drops and lets them fall down deep it always scares me because you can see his eyes all wide and a look on his face like "HOW COULD YOU MOM!!!!" I apologize for the crappy quality of photos, and the fact the boy wouldn't look at me, he was too busy!The pool we go to is pretty awesome, it has a way cool kiddie pool and lots of toys. Probably the best part is how after swim class Charlie is pooped and sleeps like a rock!

My son is getting more grown up every second it's insane. Right now he is screaming some sort of gibberish, probably on a sugar high from the sucker he is eating, he LOVES suckers by the way. If you think your child drools a lot give them a sucker and wait, it increases tenfold! Larin's boss recently received orders and is being deployed to Afganistan so she had a going away party down in Park City, it was nice for me to meet everyone he works with and learn a little more about his new job. She also has a little boy, a little older than Charlie but they still had fun playing together, I was surprised he was so well-behaved since he has recently decided he is too old for afternoon naps. It went until 9 which is past the wee one's bedtime and then of course we had the hour drive home, this is the picture I took of our exhausted little boy, too cute!!And here is Charlie, he's totally into the Twilight series....

...get it, because he looks like a vampire all covered in blood!! Ok, I know, Larin told me that joke was in bad taste, I thought it was funny, whatever. He was actually just eating a piece of licorice, a small piece and it made that much mess!
Lastly of course we got family pictures done, I know FINALLY! Larin is sooo not a picture person it takes a lot to drag him out to get them done. We went to JcPenney and they turned out fabulous! We got some of Charlie by himself since he will be one in two weeks, so they are Easter, family, one year old pictures! Here are a few, I must show you since I love my beautiful family.

Reasons to love life...

With Charlie's birthday coming up I've had time to reflect on the past year and how wonderful my life has become! There are so many reasons I love that boy, it's crazy!~His beautiful smile
~How he giggles at the most random things
~His giggle
~How when it's quiet I know he's gotten into something he shouldn't
~Now he eats anything he can get his little mitts on(For you information- the food he is eating is pasta with alfredo sauce and cinnamon toast crunch-YUM)
~And then spits 90% of it out
~His cheeks, and how when we're in the car the jiggle ever so cutely
~His great hugs
~The drooly kisses
~How much drool, snot, pee, poop, and vomit can come out of something so little
~He yells to get your attention and as soon as you look he looks away all bashful-like
~How when he doesn't feel good he becomes a great cuddle-bug
~How he barks and bites the dog to get her back for barking and biting him
~He yells "DADA!" from his crib whenever there is someone in the bathroom near his room because most often it is daddy.
~He flirts, but only with the ladies(how does he know???)
~ Splash fights
~His manly voice
~When he's tired he sucks his thumb
~If you look at his right thumb it's dried and cracked from him sleep sucking it
~How he looks just like his dad and I love him too
~He's mine and oh so sweet-when he wants to be.
There's so much more but I don't want to brag anymore than I already have!

I hate Nosebleeds...

I hate Nosebleeds, they are dumb and icky and I hate them, that is all.

Just living life.

Well I haven't updated in awhile but we haven't done anything marvelously amazing of late just living life! My baby is growing up far too fast I love all the new stuff we get to do now that he's older but he'll snuggle up to me and I miss the tiny little baby he was! He can now crawl, is great at standing and walks when helped, and has two teethies!!! I haven't been able to get a picture of them because he sticks his tongue out. I've tried to get him playing patti-cake on camera but he freezes and smiles! He is enjoying eating everything and is very demanding when you don't share and has figured out how to throw super tantrums, way fun. He is jibber-jabbering all the time too and loves to tell stories and get books read to him.Reading his books with his feet up on his toy.
I'm planning on enrolling him in baby swimming class once it gets a little warmer because I know he'll love it and I'm excited to get to do that with him! I'll also be starting up some school get a few more generals out of the way since we'll be here until January.
We got our taxes back and paid off some bills and my ring! It's so beautiful I had to post a picture and flaunt it a little!And of course Larin bought a gun he wanted, he is so excited and can't wait until hunting season starts.After that we still had some to put in savings! YAY! We are planning on getting a new mattress here soon and once we save a little more a new car, a four-door so Larin can drive his truck and I won't have to try and squeeze Charlie's seat into the Honda! That and save a pretty penny on gas. That's all for now!

My New Year's decision...

Yes, it is the 11th and I'm just getting to it but here goes. I decided to try new things and have chosen 7 that I want to try and WILL do!

1. Learn a new Language...I have the best opportunity because my husband is in the military and we have FREE access to Rosetta Stone. Come on, I know you've seen the commercials. I figure I'm a stay at home mom so I thinking I need to do it 30min. a day 5 days a week isn't crazy, I can do it! So I choose SPANISH! I actually used to know quite a bit having to converse with my co-workers at Sol-Rio. But after not working there and dropping Spanish in High School (Senor Kerns creeped me out majorly) I think it will be easy to get back into- hopefully!




2. Finish my many crafts I started!- Yup, I've been known to start one and never get around to finishing it, I have like 5 right now that need to get done so I will get on it! And maybe when I'm done start decorating my house, it's pretty plain!

3. Work out!- Everyone says this but I'm going to I swear!! My abs are pretty much non-existent since a certain little boy was growing in my belly- Same as the language thing 5 days a week at least 30 min a day, I've done two days so far so yay!! So yeah, I'll never look that good ---------------------------------->

4. Get out of the house as a couple- Larin got great news that he will not have to work as a recruiter the remainder of our months here so he will now have NORMAL HOURS!!!!! So we need to start keeping the romance alive- so we try new thing together or just go out on a date at least 3 times a month!!!


5. Read the Scriptures- It's been a loooonnggg time, now that I have a child I need to get back into religion so we can be a family for eternity. Larin and I always say we are going to start it up, the whole going back to church and what not and now we have a great reason too.

6. Learn to Cook better- I'm an awesome baker but my cooking skills fall pretty FLAT, or bland if you ask Larin. So more food from SCRATCH for our dinners- dinner as a family!! In this case WISH LARIN LUCK!




7. Learn PHOTOGRAPHY- This is an idea that I've been brooding about for awhile, reading up on and what not. My family always gets together and is like "we need a family picture before anyone gets pregnant again or moves far away...". I thought maybe I could learn to do it and do it well and hey wherever my husband, Charlie and I end up I could do it as a job out of my house. Maybe that part won't happen but I'd like to have more family pictures and it's such a hassle to get Larin in on it so if I can do it myself at home we would actually have them! The camera I want and it's accessories is $450, yikes, so this one might be a little later in the year after I save up that much! Taking donations-just kidding-unless you have money you want to give me then do.
